BREDA - Ballard came in second overall with one all-conference performer at the Raccoon River Conference girls’ golf meet Monday at the Breda Golf Club.


Ballard shot a 402 over 18 holes to beat Carlisle by six strokes for second out of seven teams. Carroll outclassed the rest of the field with a winning score of 364.


Alle Echer made all-conference for Ballard after placing sixth individually with a 93. Echer carded nine-hole rounds of 47 and 46.


Ana Vier stepped up with a 101 and Lauren Smith shot a 102 for the Bombers. Vier shot a 52 out and 49 in and Smith turned rounds of 54 and 48.


Brandelle McGinn shot 106 with two rounds of 53 for the final counted Ballard score. Cassidy Thompson shot a 62 out and 58 in for a 120 and Maya Baker had rounds of 62 and 60 for a 122 as the Bombers’ other varsity competitors at the meet.


Carroll’s Somer Sinnard was the RRC medalist with an 86. Perry’s Alyssa Kruger was medalist runner-up with an 87.
