HUXLEY - The Ballard boys’ tennis team quickly turned away Saydel Monday at the Ballard Tennis Courts, whipping the Eagles by a 10-1 score.


Ballard won in straight sets in all 10 of its victories. The Bombers swept doubles play to go to 5-2 on the season.


In doubles competition, the Bomber tandem of Caleb Hamerlinck and Max Olsan won the No. 1 match over Peter Walkwitz and Dalton Silver with a pair of 6-3 victories. Seth Wohlgemuth and Chase Winterboer claimed 6-4 and 6-3 victories over Saydel’s Zach Bobenhouse and Ray Gist in the No. 2 match and Nathan Wuestenberg and Peyton Culp won the No. 3 match over Lucas Graham and Ron Kouski, 6-4 and 6-2.


Codey Erickson and Carter Harms scored 6-2 and 6-1 victories over Saydel’s Dylan Walker and Logan Carney in the No. 4 match. Logan Gogerty and Ryan Carlin dominated the Eagles’ Seth Plascencia and Ben Kayser by 6-1 and 6-0 margins.


Singles play saw Hamerlinck down Walkwitz, 6-2 and 6-1 in the No. 1 match. Wohlgemuth won the No. 3 match over Bobenhouse by 6-4 and 6-2 scores and Colin Anderson claimed a pair of 6-1 victories over Graham in the No. 4 match.


Jacob Alden whipped Gist by scores of 6-1 and 6-2 in the No. 5 match. Tanner DeMaris scored two 6-2 wins against Walker in the No. 6 match.
