NEVADA - The Ballard girls’ golf team produced the individual champion at the Nevada coed quadrangular meet April 5 at Indian Creek Country Club in Nevada.


Alle Echer won medalist honors for Ballard after shooting a 97 over 18 holes. Echer shot a 54 in, then picked up her game by carding a 43 out to beat Nevada’s Emma Griffin by three strokes for first individually.


As a team, Ballard placed second with a 487. Nevada easily won with a 440, Adel-Desoto-Minburn took third with a 489 and North Polk was ineligible for team scoring, with only two golfers going nine holes each.


Brandelle McGinn shot a 128 and Meggan Carlson and Ana Vier each finished with a 131 as the other counted scores for Ballard. McGinn had rounds of 66 and 62, Carlson shot a 71 in and 60 out and Vier turned in a 66 and 65 respectively.


Cassidy Thompson just missed the scoring cut for Ballard with a 132. Thompson carded a 69 in and 63 out.


Maya Baker also competed for Ballard. Baker delivered a 137 with rounds of 71 and 66.


Nora Aschoff and Katie Scott were the two North Polk golfers to compete at the meet. Aschoff shot a 59 over nine holes and Scott scored a 66.
