ALLEMAN - The North Polk boys’ tennis team came up short against a strong Pella squad, 9-2, in its opening meet of the season March 27 at the North Polk Tennis Courts in Alleman.
North Polk picked up one victory apiece in singles and doubles play.
Evan Moon gave North Polk a win in the No. 1 doubles match. Moon blanked Pella’s Jordan Roozeboom in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-0.
In the No. 2 doubles match, the North Polk tandem of Jack Veber and Colby Cupp ousted Pella’s Colton Edwards and Jack Edwards by an 8-5 score.
