DES MOINES - The Collins-Maxwell-Baxter girls’ soccer team won its fourth in a row with a 2-1 shootout victory over Des Moines Christian May 18 in Des Moines.


CMB prevailed by making four penalty kicks to outlast the Lions after the two teams were deadlocked in a 1-1 tie through regulation and two overtimes.


Tatum Tremain, Maya Phelps, Emily Coughenour and Caitlyn Bruntz each converted one penalty kick in the shootout to help CMB get the win. Tremain netted CMB’s only goal in regulation.


Keeper Amanda Harrington was outstanding in helping CMB get the win. She made 24 saves on the night.


The victory put the Raiders at 7-6 on the season.


CHARITON - Collins-Maxwell-Baxter easily handled Chariton by a 6-2 score May 16 at Chariton.


The Raiders fired off 13 shots on goal in the win. Caitlyn Bruntz delivered a hat-trick with three goals to lead CMB to victory.


Maya Phelps added one goal and one assist for the Raiders. Emily Coughenour and Tatum Tremain each scored one goal and Hannah Robertson made seven saves at keeper for CMB
