CARROLL - The Ballard boys’ golf team placed fifth out of eight teams at the Raccoon River Conference meet Monday at the Carroll Country Club.


The Bombers shot a 349 over 18 holes to finish five strokes behind Boone’s fourth-place score. Adel-Desoto-Minburn won with a 327, Carroll took second with a 335 and Winterset shot a 338 to place third.


Noah Hartman was the top individual golfer for the Bomber boys with an 83. Gannon Manfull finished with an 87, Hersch Maxey an 88 and Alex Bangs a 91 as the other scored Bomber golfers.


Robert Klunder and Max Stoltz also competed for Ballard. Klunder shot a 92 and Stoltz a 96.

AMES - Ballard had two 18-hole scores under 100 at the Gilbert Invitational Saturday as the Bombers placed seventh out of nine teams competing at the Ames Golf and Country Club.


Ballard shot a 381 during the tournament. The Bombers won a card-back with Van Meter to take seventh after the Bulldogs also shot a 381.


Noah Hartman paced Ballard with a 79 after turning in nine-hole scores of 37 and 42. Max Stoltz and Lucas Mulder each delivered a 99 as Stoltz shot rounds of 47 and 52 and Mulder carded a 49 in and 50 out.


Alex Bangs delivered a 104 with rounds of 49 and 55 as the other scored Bomber golfer. Robert Klunder and Tyler Ihle each delivered a 106, Jack Baumhover finished with a 113 and Cody Ihle a 118 for the Bombers.


Gilbert’s Tommy Doyle won medalist with a 70 and the Tigers’ Joe Gibbons was medalist runner-up with a 76. The Tigers won the team title with a 310, Boone placed second with a 325 and Nevada took third with a 330.

WEBSTER CITY - Ballard produced the medalist runner-up at the Lynx Invitational May 4 at the Briggs Woods Golf Course in Webster City.


The Bombers’ Noah Hartman shot a 75 over 18 holes to come in second to Webster City’s Nathan Farrell. Farrell ended the day with a 72.


Hartman shot a 36 in and 39 out. Farrell turned in rounds of 34 and 38.


Ballard shot a 359 as a team to place fourth. Webster City easily won with a 306 and Gilbert and Nevada each finished with a 325.


Gannon Manfull carded a 90 with rounds of 44 and 46 and Max Stoltz shot a 46 in and 47 out to finish with a 93 for Ballard. Robert Klunder was the final scored Bomber golfer with a 101 as he turned in rounds of 47 and 54.
