CHARITON - The Collins-Maxwell-Baxter boys’ soccer team brought home the Chariton Invitational championship Saturday at Chariton.

The Raiders went 2-0 in the tournament to claim the title. They defeated Chariton by a 3-1 score, then knocked off Carlisle, 3-0, in the championship game to go to 2-3 on the season.

In the victory over Chariton, Devin Carson scored two goals and Carter Fricke added one. The Raiders ended up with nine shots on goal and Ryan Sabastiano handed out one assist.

Keeper Brendyn Padget made 10 saves against the Chargers.

CMB did all of its scoring in the second half in the championship victory over Carlisle. The game was knotted in a scoreless tie after one half before CMB got hot to take charge and secure the title.

Carson, Fricke and Sabastiano each scored once for CMB in the championship game. Carson and Fricke also handed out one assist apiece.

The Raiders ended up with 11 shots on goal versus Carlisle. Padget made four saves to preserve the shutout.
