OSCEOLA - The Ballard girls’ tennis team made short work of Clarke April 11 in Osceola as the Bombers won four singles matches and swept doubles play to pull off a 7-2 victory.
Ballard went 3-0 in doubles play. The Bombers won all three matches by comfortable margins to wrap up the meet and improve to 2-1 on the season.
Bry Ronca and Kate Rietz won the No. 1 doubles match over Clarke’s Megan Linskens and Deseree Stubbe by an 8-4 score. In the No. 2 match, the Bombers’ Anna Zielke and Kari Holmes whipped Sydney Sickels and Brittany Beckett by an 8-3 margin.
Mikayla Rietgraf and Lindsey Kaldenberg wrapped up doubles play for Ballard with a decisive 8-2 win over Meredyth Olson and Lexy Carson in the No. 3 match.
The Bombers went 4-2 in singles play.
Ronca edged Sickels by an 8-6 score in the No. 1 singles match. Rietz downed Linskens by an 8-5 decision in the No. 2 match, Rietgraf won the No. 3 match over Brittany Beckett, 8-6, and Holmes prevailed over Carson in the No. 5 match, 8-5.
