Nancy Ann Stuck, 80, of Sheldahl, IA, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at the Israel Family Hospice in Ames.
A Celebration of Life was held Sunday, October 7, 2018, at the Masonic Temple in Polk City, where there was an Order of Eastern Star Service.
Nancy was born January 1, 1938, in Oskaloosa, IA, daughter of Leo Fred Carl and Lucille (Hope) Holtkamp. At an early age she moved with her family to Webster City where she graduated in 1956. Nancy then worked at the local five and dime store, where she met her future husband Gary sitting on the curb in front of the store. Nancy and Gary were later married on June 8, 1958 in Webster City.
They made their home in Chicago and Kansas City while Gary was serving with the Marines. After his discharge they moved to Des Moines, where she raised her family and worked at Casson’s Meat Company as a bookkeeper. In 1972 they moved to an acreage near Sheldahl. Nancy obtained her Dietitian Certificate and was employed at Polk City Manor, a cook for a fraternity at Drake University, and later Heartland Equipment as a secretary until her retirement.
She was a member of the Polk City Eastern Star #361.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gary, a great-grandson Dominick, a brother Tom and three sisters; Ruth, Marie and Billie.
She is survived by three daughters; Belinda (Gabriel) Ruggieri of Johnston, IA, Lorri (Todd) Lester and Sheila Stuck, both of Slater, grandchildren; Savannah, Rachael, Brandon, Mallory, Emily, Stacy, Sarah, and great-grandchildren Olivia, Elena, Ethan, Aubrie, Kaiden, Landen, Kacen and a great-granddaughter on the way.
