Rae Lyn Venghaus, age 34 of Morning Sun, passed to her heavenly home Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospital. The daughter of Rick and Lynda (Owens) Venghaus, she was born August 19, 1982 at Mt. Pleasant. She was a graduate of W-MU Schools, class of 2000 and a 2004 graduate of Grandview University in Des Moines. She worked for the government in insurance claims until she no longer could due to health issues. She was a member of Faith Christian Outreach Church in Mt. Pleasant. She loved life and was a big pet lover, and cherished her friends and family.

Survivors include: her father Rick Venghaus and Kris Murphy of Winfield; her mother Lynda and Mike Karagin of Morning Sun; one brother, Jeromy Venghaus of Pleasant Grove: Grandmothers Fran Venghaus and Bev Karagin; one cousin, Kade Sullivan of Cornelius, NC.; her sponsor son Ricardo Navarete of Nicaraugua; stepsister Alycia Totemeier of New London; stepbrother Nathaniel Murphy of Winfield; aunts and uncles Vicki and Kirk Delzell of Morning Sun, Barb and Mike Pealer of Morning Sun, and Brad and Kathy Karagin of Highland Village Tx.; step nephews and nieces; and her beloved pets Daisy, Sassy, Bruce, Whitey, Precious, Shorty, and Tillie … she loved them all.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Dean & Della Owens, grandfather Gene Venghaus, Milos Karagin, and uncles Dean Jr. and Steve Owens.

Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be Friday, August 11, 2017 at 10:30a.m. at Faith Christian Outreach Church in Mt. Pleasant. A lunch will follow and interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Morning Sun. Memorials have been established for the MS Society and Faith Christian Outreach Church. Honts Funeral Home in Winfield is assisting the family with arrangements.
