Prom should be celebrated as an alcohol- and substance-free event, which takes the combined effort of schools, parents, law-enforcement officials, other members of the local community, and, of course, the students. The goal of North Polk’s post prom committee is to do exactly that - help provide an event after the school sponsored dance that will help the kids to have fun in a safe and alcohol free environment.

Two events have been organized to help the committee raise funds for post prom activities. The first is a supper that will be held at Papa’s Pizzeria in Polk City Feb. 8 from 5-9p.m. The second is a spaghetti supper that will be held Feb. 22, from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the Polk City American Legion.

In addition to supper at Papa’s and the spaghetti supper, the post prom committee has many events planned to raise money to help pay for the Post Prom activities. Watch the North Polk District website for upcoming events.
