Snowshoe Hike: Jan. 18, 1-3 p.m. Emily Klein, Boone County naturalist, will be leading a free family hike for adults and children age 5 and older. Learn the history of snowshoeing and basic winter hiking skills. To borrow a pair of snowshoes and poles, call or email Emily in advance at 515-230-8832 or eklein@boonecounty.iowa.gov.

A minimum of 3 inches of snow is needed to use the snowshoes. A winter hike will be conducted if there is not enough snow and enough people want to hike the trails.

Soup Supper: Friday, Jan. 31, 4-7 p.m. Come and join us for a tasty bowl of soup and warm conversation at the Arboretum. Fee: $7 per person

The Iowa Arboretum is located at 1875 Peach Ave., Madrid, south of the Ledges State Park.
