Sept. 28 is National Public Lands Day, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Saylorville Lake is hosting a shoreline cleanup project, beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at noon. Participants who would like to help clean up the environment can sign up at the Saylorville Lake Visitor Center. Please wear long pants, long sleeves and closed-toed shoes. Trash bags and cloth gloves will be provided. Volunteers or groups who work for a total of three hours may receive a camping pass for one free night at a Corps of Engineers managed campground at Saylorville Lake (pass may not be used for reservations).
