Iowa Public Television’s Dan Wardell visited the Huxley Public Library’s summer reading program July 2, as part of the Reading Road Trip he goes on every summer. Wardell’s ‘big’ message for the kids was: 1-turn off the TV, 2-use your imagination, 3-read books and 4-eat healthy foods. He told an interactive story about Mole Mountain. Kids had to help dig up the bad moles and their unhealthy snacks, and replace those items with the food pyramid of good food choices. Their ability to help him turned them all into super heroes. Every child recieved a flashlight from the sponsor, College Savings of Iowa.
