• The Collins Clippers held their annual Family Night celebration on Nov. 18 at the Community Center in Collins. Each year we look back and celebrate the past year’s events and successes at the county and state fair. The club had pizza and side dishes and desserts provided by the members. New club officers were inducted for the next year. They are: President Olivia Moody, Vice President Grace Girard, Secretary Madelyn Gerhart, Treasurer Andrew Tschantz and Recorder/Photographer Eliza Girard.
New members were initiated. They are Cayden Struthers, Alina Goldie, Kyler Davis and Denton Gerhart.
• The Collins Clippers 4-H club came to order on Jan 28 at 2 p.m. The meeting was called to order by Vice President Grace Girard, followed by the pledge to the American flag by Eliza Girard. The clubbers answered the meetings roll call with their favorite wintertime activity. The secretary’s report was given by Madelyn Gerhart. The treasurer’s report was given by Andrew Tschantz. Signups were handed out for upcoming club events, including the community breakfas,t which will be held March 4, the Mother’s Day car wash and the Collins’ Days parade lineup and petting zoo. Old business and new business were given, including the re-enrollment of current or new members, Market beef weigh in and FSQA training, which will be held on March 20, from 6-8 p.m. at the Story County Extension office. Members who were not able to attend the county awards night were given their certificates. The meeting adjourned and the 4-H pledge was led by Grace Girard. Presentations were given by Grace on her Goat Color Genetics project that she took to the county fair and Eliza Girard on how to take a four-seasons picture, followed by snacks provided by the Girard’s.
