12/5: Officer took a burglary complaint at the 1500 block of Blue Sky Blvd. A construction trailer had been entered. No property taken from within.
12/6: Officer responded to the high school parking lot for a vehicle accident. A parked vehicle owned by a Madrid student was struck by a vehicle operated by a student from Huxley, causing minimal damage.
12/8: Officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on E. Third Street and N. Second Ave. The driver of the vehicle, a 43-year-old Perry woman, was suspended from driving. She was cited and released with a court date for Driving Under Suspension.
12/10: Officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Highway 69 near the Ballard Plaza. The driver of the vehicle, a 23-year-old Baxter woman, was arrested for OWI. She was transported to the Story County Jail in Nevada.
12/12: Officer served an arrest warrant at the 200 block of Oak Blvd. A 20-year-old Huxley woman was transported to the Story County Jail in Nevada. Officer responded to the 500 block of E, Fourth for a domestic altercation. The altercation was verbal and both parties agreed to remain separated for the remainder of the night with the male half leaving the residence. Officer responded to a domestic altercation at the 100 block of National Drive. Two teenage brothers got into a physical altercation, with both being aggressors. Neither pursued charges.
12/14: Officer responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Campus and Highway 69. A vehicle operated by a 44-year-old Maxwell woman entered the intersection without yielding to a vehicle operated by an Ankeny man that was already on Highway 69. Both vehicles were a total loss. No injuries.
12/15: Officer responded to a two-vehicle accident on Lynwood near Fifth Ave. A vehicle operated by a Huxley man rearended a vehicle operated by another Huxley man, causing approximately $2,500 in damage. No injuries.
12/16: Officer responded to the 200 block of Oak Blvd. for a welfare check and possible medical emergency. Contact was made with the Huxley resident, who agreed to transport to the hospital for treatment. Officer received a harassment complaint at the 500 block of E. Fifth Street. Contact was made with several juveniles, who agreed to stop the behavior in order to avoid future police attention.
12/21: Officer was asked to check the welfare of a Huxley resident at the 300 block of W. Third. Contact was made with the Huxley resident, who agreed to transport to the hospital for treatment.
12/23: Officer responded to a domestic altercation at the 100 block of Oak Blvd. The altercation was verbal and both parties agreed that they could cohabitate with no further problems. Officer arrested a 37-year-old Des Moines man for Possession of Meth Paraphernalia on Highway 210 near Monsanto.
12/27: Officer responded to a domestic altercation at the 500 block of N. Second. The altercation was verbal between a father and teenage son. Both parties were able to cohabitate for the remainder of the night.
12/30: Officer was called to a business at the 900 block of Highway 69 for a heavily intoxicated female. A 30-year-old Huxley woman was arrested for Public Intoxication and transported to the Story County Jail in Nevada. Officer responded to a domestic altercation at the 100 block of Oak Blvd. The altercation was verbal between a Huxley man and his adult daughter. The Huxley man elected to stay at a different residence for the night.
Huxley officers had five arrests for the month, one for Driving Under Suspension, one for OWI, one for Possession of Paraphernalia, one for Public Intoxication and one warrant served. Officers issued 19 citations for traffic violations, gave 114 warnings, received 110 calls for service and had a total of 393 contacts for the month. Officers used 230.25 hours toward investigations or answering calls for service and gave 461.75 hours of general patrol.
