Charlie’s Angels and Andrea’s Angels, both cystic fibrosis teams, got together and decorated an “Angel Tree” for the Blank Children’s Hospital Festival of Trees & Lights. This was the 34th annual festival, with all proceeds from the event benefiting Blank Children’s Hospital in support of the Child Life and Creative Arts Therapies programs. Both Charlie Hugunin and Andrea Rider have cystic fibrosis. The Angel tree was decorated in the colors purple and gold, purple being the color for cystic fibrosis. Angels, angel wings, gold bows with hints of silver and a huge angel on the top filled the tree. The tree was purchased by Sid Ramsey, a VP of Unity Point, and donated to a center in Des Moines. Those helping with the tree included Reed Moore, Lynn Moore, Tim Hugunin, Charlie Hugunin, Alex Hugunin, Andrea Rider and Susie Rider. Not shown by helping with the crafting of the handmade glass ornaments were Denise and Denny Beckmen. Betty Hugunin, also not shown, made the tree skirt. The two teams combined to not only raise funds for the therapy programs that are available to cystic fibrosis patients, but to also educate the public on the disease. Photo Contributed
