A sanitary sewer line expansion is in the works for the city of Slater.
The project includes a 34-foot deep lift station with an eight-inch sewer line. The lift station will be located in Grimm Park on the southwest side of town. From there, sewage will be pumped under Highway 210 to an existing sewer line.
This expansion will initially benefit Syngenta Seeds and GreenTech of Iowa, but it will also be able to accommodate future commercial growth, according to Slater Public Works Director Mark Estrem.
“It’s that deep to handle future development,” he said.
The cost of the project is approximately $860,000 and will be completed by Graff excavating out of Toledo in the spring of 2018.
