Skylar Finch, a junior arts management and Spanish double major from Polk City, will be part of the cast when Buena Vista University (BVU) Theatre presents “Woman Wonder,” Nov. 16-18, at 7 p.m. in Anderson Auditorium on the BVU campus.

DMACC students recently competed in the annual informative speech contest held on the DMACC Ankeny Campus. Sam Whelan of Polk City won the contest. His speech was on “stray and feral pet populations.” Whelan cited statistics showing there are nearly 86 million cats in homes in the United States, but 70 million stray and or feral cats. He said there are 780 million dogs in homes and an unknown number of stray and or feral dogs.

Whelan received a $100 gift certificate from the DMACC bookstores for winning the contest.
