Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation and Surly Gives a Damn – the “public-spirited side of Surly Brewing Co.” – will host a morning of brush-cutting, brews and giving back at Snyder Heritage Farm on Saturday, Nov. 4. The event marks INHF’s last public outdoor volunteer opportunity of the 2017 season.
Working together in teams, volunteers will help remove non-native plant species at Snyder Heritage Farm, a 154-acre preserve near Ankeny. Removing these species allows the sun-loving prairie to thrive. After, volunteers will grab a beer together – compliments of Surly – at a nearby establishment.
An RSVP is requested for this event because space is limited. Volunteers should RSVP at inhf.org/events. All volunteers will receive a free Surly Gives a Damn T-shirt.
