9/6: Officer responded to a two-vehicle accident on Highway 210 near 560th. A vehicle operated by a Madrid woman was rear-ended by a vehicle operated by a Madrid man, causing approximately $4,000 in damage. No injuries. Officer was called to investigate a reported assault at the 3C’s. Two juvenile males participated in a boxing match in the rec room. Surveillance footage showed this and no charges are appropriate since both were willing participants.


9/7: Officer responded to an out-of-control teen at the 500 block of N. Second. A 17-year-male was transported to the hospital for treatment.


9/8: Officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Highway 69 near 300th. The driver of the vehicle, a 20-year-old Brayton man, was arrested for OWI. He was transported to the Story County Jail in Nevada.


9/10: Officer received a theft complaint at the 200 block of Oak Blvd. A watch valued at $225 was taken from the residence by a known suspect. Arrest warrant to follow investigation. Officer responded to the 500 block of E. Fifth Street to help a parent with an out-of-control teen. The officer was able to help to the point he could leave all parties in the same residence with no further problems.


9/14: Officer responded to a family altercation at the 500 block of E. Fourth Street. A 42-year-old Huxley man was arrested for assault and transported to the Story County Jail in Nevada. Officer received a Criminal Mischief Complaint at the 100 block of National Drive. Damage to screens and windows were noticed by the tenant that would have had to have taken place within the past hour. No suspects.


9/19: Officer received a criminal mischief complaint at the 200 block of North Main. A vehicle parked on the street had the driver’s side window shattered. No suspects.


9/20: Officer responded to a two-vehicle accident at the Ballard Plaza. A vehicle operated by a Huxley woman collided with a vehicle operated by a Boone woman, causing minimal damage to both vehicles. No injuries.


9/21: Officer responded to the Interstate at the 103 Mile Marker Southbound for a report of two vehicles that struck road debris, causing damage to their vehicles. No injuries to either driver. Minimal damage to both vehicles. Officer cited a 27-year-old West Des Moines woman for a school bus stop arm violation at the 200 block of Centennial Drive.


9/28: Officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Highway 69 near 340th. The driver of the vehicle, a 47-year-old Huxley man, was arrested for OWI and transported to the Story County Jail in Nevada.


Huxley officers had three arrests for the month, two were for OWI and one was for Assault. Officers issued 30 citations for traffic offenses, gave 90 warnings, received 124 calls for service and had a total of 362 contacts for the month. Officers used 245 hours toward investigations or answering calls and gave 466.5 hours of general patrol.
