Huxley City Council had a short to-do list on Tuesday evening. Below are highlights from the City Council meeting.
• The hiring of new full-time police officer Jacqueline Gloede of Cambridge was approved. Gloede will fill the resignation of Officer Meagan Cowden.
• A policy for off-duty public-safety employment by officers of the Huxley Police Department was approved by all council members. Included in the policy was a set rate of pay for standard and special off-duty work, as well as regulations and an approval process.
• The council approved the second pay estimate on the sewer surface restoration project on Main Avenue. Con-Struct Inc. out of Ames is the company working on the project. The payment was for a total of $9,405, leaving $3,698.13.
The next City Council meeting will be on Sept. 26, 6 p.m., at City Hall.
