On Saturday, Sept. 16, Story County Extension will be hosting a Family Agricultural Safety Day at the Story County Fairgrounds in Nevada, from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. There is no registration fee, but preregistration is required and due by Sept. 8. This event is open for all who are interested in learning more about how to be safe around agricultural products.
Families and youth that participate in the event will enjoy presentations from ISU Extension and Outreach staff, industry partners, and local community partners on a variety of topics, including; Tractor and Lawn Mower Safety, Chemical Safety, First Aid, Animal Handling, STEM and Agricultural Literacy and More!
Featured wil be Arick Baker, a survivor of grain bin entrapment, who will speak on his experience; and Jesse Randall, ISU Extension forester, who will demonstrate chainsaw safety.
Lunch is provided with help from the Story County Pork Producers.
