Applications are now being requested for projects that significantly improve or affect the lives of those living in Story County communities. Community grants of up to $6,000 are awarded on a competitive basis by the Story County Community Foundation (SCCF).
Grant applications are accepted from nonprofit organizations or governmental agencies. Please see the SCCF website at www.storycountyfoundation.org for the application requirements and guidelines. The application deadline for electronic submission to firstname.lastname@example.org is 5 p.m., Sept. 30.
The SCCF allocations committee will consider requests in October and award grants in November.
“Since 2005, the SCCF has awarded grants totaling more than $1 million to Story County charitable organizations,” said Jennifer Garst, executive director. The grants are made possible by donations to SCCF and an Iowa legislative initiative that allocates a percentage of the state’s gaming revenues to community foundations in counties without state-chartered casinos. Contact the SCCF office at 515-232-9200 with questions or for more information.
