Story County Farm Bureau members attending the Thursday, July 13, annual meeting will be deciding on Farm Bureau policy. The official notice of the 100th Story County Farm Bureau annual meeting has been mailed. “This culminates nearly eight months of activity by Farm Bureau to get the views of farm families on local, state and national issues that affect farmers and all rural Iowans,” Nick Hermanson, president said.
The 2017 annual meeting will be held at the Community Building, 90 I Ave. in Nevada. The picnic-style meal begins at 5:30 p.m. and features a pork sandwich meal prepared and served by Derrick and Shellie Black of Nevada. Chuck Long CEO/executive director of the Iowa Sports Foundation and an analyst for the Big Ten Network will be the keynote speaker at this meeting, starting at 6:15 p.m. Items on the business meeting agenda will be elections of directors and approving the resolutions, and it will begin following the keynote speaker.
