6/2: Officer responded to a domestic altercation at the 300 block of Main Ave. The altercation was verbal and both parties agreed to remain separated for the remainder of the night.


6/6: Officer responded to a domestic altercation at the 200 block of N. Third Ave. The altercation was verbal and both parties agreed to remain separated for the remainder of the night.


6/7: Officer responded to a domestic altercation at a business in the 300 block of Highway 69. The altercation was verbal and both parties agreed that they could resolve their issues with no further police attention. Officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Centennial near Ridgewood Drive. The driver of the vehicle, a 38-year-old Dallas, Texas, man, was arrested for OWI. He was transported to the Story County Jail in Nevada.


6/8: Officer was asked to the check the welfare of a resident at the 200 block of N. Third Ave. Contact was made with the citizen, who was transported to the hospital for treatment. Officer received a report of a runaway juvenile at the 500 block of E. Fifth Street. After a short time, the juvenile returned home.


6/9: Officer responded to a two-vehicle accident on Highway 69 near E. Fourth Street. A vehicle operated by a 20-year-old Fairfield man rear-ended a vehicle operated by an Ankeny woman, causing approximately $2,500 in damage. No injuries.


6/11: Officer responded to a three-vehicle accident on Highway 69 and Oak Blvd. A vehicle operated by a 23-year-old Ames man ran a red light on 69 and struck a vehicle operated by an Ankeny man, which caused him to collide with the third vehicle also in the intersection. Total damage to all vehicles approximately $6,800. No injuries.


6/15: Officer served an arrest warrant at the 100 block of Oak Blvd. A Huxley man was transported to the Story County Jail in Nevada.


6/19: Officer responded to domestic altercation at the 100 block of Oak Blvd. The altercation was verbal and both parties remained separated for the remainder of the night.


6/20: Officer was asked to check the welfare of an individual at the 200 block of N. Third Ave. Contact was made with a resident, who was transported to the hospital for treatment.


6/24: Officer responded to a domestic altercation at the 100 block of National Drive. The constable learned the altercation was verbal and both parties agreed to stay in separate places for the remainder of the night. Officer responded to an accident at the 100 block of National Drive in an apartment parking lot. A vehicle operated by a Huxley driver struck a parked vehicle belonging to a Huxley woman, causing approximately $1,500 in damage. No injuries.


6/25: Officer took a harassment complaint at the 200 block of Oak Blvd. Contact was made with a 52-year-old Ames woman, who agreed to stop the harassing behavior in order to avoid future police attention. Officer transported a Huxley juvenile to Rosedale in Ames for a parental placement.


6/29: Officer received a theft complaint at the 100 block of Lynwood. A Kid Alert visual warning sign in the shape of a child holding a flag was missing from the front yard of the victim. The sign is valued at $35.


Huxley officers had two arrests for the month; one was for OWI and the other for a warrant. Officers issued 22 citations for traffic violations and gave 76 warnings, received 153 calls for service or information and had a total of 399 contacts for the month. Officers used 231.75 hours for investigations, responding to calls or providing service, and gave 431.5 hours of general patrol.
