Shown are Karen Larson and Gwen Taylor, of Heart of Iowa Friends, presenting a check for $2,000 to Lynn Moore of Charlie’s Angels. This is from a group of women who, for the last 14 years, have selected a charity or group having a “need” of funds. Each year, a different theme is selected for the tea, so tables are decorated by members. There’s a raffle, and entertainment, door prizes and lots of delicious food are provided. This year, “Charlie’s Angels” was selected to receive the proceeds of the tea. Charlie’s Angels is a local group collecting funds for research fighting cystic fibrosis. There are three Care Centers for Cystic Fibrosis patients in Iowa and Mary Greeley Medical Center is Ames is one of them. We are all hopeful that a cure will be found soon. Photo Contributed
