I would like to take this opportunity to announce my intentions to run for Polk City City Council in the November 2017 election

I have been a resident of Polk City since 2010 and am happy this is where my husband and I decided to raise our family. We have a 6-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son who will be attending North Polk Community School District. While I am excited about the growth Polk City has been experiencing, I am extremely passionate about the small town atmosphere. I am running for City Council because I want to help shape the future of this community as we grow. I want to work with others to continue creating opportunities for our families within Polk City, while preserving the small community feeling.

I have been in the banking industry for 15 years, with experience as a credit analyst, commercial loan officer, and compliance officer. This professional experience has allowed me to build many relationships, and has given me the background to understand financial information, as well as laws and regulations, and to also understand the financial and economic needs of both businesses and individuals.

Prior to moving to Polk City, I was involved in a number of community organizations and leadership positions, including chairperson of the Ankeny Young Professionals, board member of the Ankeny Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Mayor’s Economic Development Task Force. I have been a member of the board of directors of the Polk City Library since 2015.
