We have so much going on we’re expanding our hours during the holidays, including staying open until 8 p.m. on Thursdays until Christmas. Guests can visit the gift shop and see the holiday display illuminated against the night sky.

Barns and Quilts with a Holiday Twist

Come see Reiman Gardens’ beautiful Conservatory decorated for the holidays! The show is titled "Our Holiday Heritage," and is the last display of the 2013 theme, "More than Meets the Iowa." Enjoy holiday plantings in Iowa-themed quilt blocks, a barn structure decked out with a barn quilt and display quilts featuring an Iowa quilt block, "Iowa Hawkeye Star."

This special show runs through Friday, Jan. 10. If you have out-of-town visitors or just need a quiet spot to enjoy holiday cheer, this is the place!

Butterfly Blizzard

Come in from the cold to experience a different kind of blizzard - a butterfly blizzard - in Reiman Gardens’ Christina Reiman Butterfly Wing! You won’t want to miss this opportunity to release your very own butterfly in this tropical, indoor garden. The date is aturday, Dec. 21, from 8 to 9:30 a.m.

Holiday Shopping in the Gift Shop

On Thursday, Dec. 12, from 5 to 8 p.m., visit the gift shop to finish your holiday shopping. Shop for unique items for gifts and stocking stuffers. Everyone who attends will receive a discount and get plenty of help from our inspired gift shop staff. Refreshments will be served. It is always free to visit the gift shop.

Reiman Gardens’ Breakfast at the North Pole

Bring your family on Saturday, Dec. 14, for a hearty breakfast in an indoor winter wonderland. The morning will include activity stations to get you in the holiday spirit, storytelling and music by the Ames Children’s Choirs. There are two seatings, at 9 and 11 a.m., for your convenience.
