You won’t want to miss this frightening event! On Saturday, Sept. 28, Story County Conservation will host a free haunted trail hike at Hickory Grove Park (67382 250th St.) southwest of Colo.

This event, which will take place from 7–9:30 p.m., will lead visitors through scary skits on the hiking trails at Hickory Grove.

"Halloween is my favorite time of year and I’ve always enjoyed haunted houses," Ranger Dustin Eighmy said. "This is going to be a great event and we are really excited to bring a haunted hike to Hickory Grove this year."

The hikes will start on the north side of the park, across from Bob White Shelter. Parents must accompany children through the hike. This event may not be suitable for smaller children. Please follow parking signs on your way into the park.

Would you like to volunteer? We need volunteers to help guide hikes, perform scary skits and direct traffic. This would be a perfect opportunity for a club or organization! For more information about this event, contact Ranger Dustin Eighmy at 641-377-2833 or email
