I'd like to know how the city is going to enforce any of 1 or 2 above. Further using TIF monies coming from the newer homes to subsidize lot loans for more people who don't necessarily live around here helps the general city population how? We seen the results of the recent increase in population - $28M in debt for public improvements. I say we need to dramatically reduce or reliance in TIF to attract homeowners and dramatically increase our efforts in attracting business and jobs. These two things do help the general population and natuarally attract residents without the cost and hassle. Mike Orgler

Good article Steve. I can remember back to the 40, just after WWII when my dad had a job digging tile ditches with a spade and sand shovel. They got paid by how many rods of ditch they dug. I recall sitting at the supper table and hearing him tell mom how far he had dug that day and if it was easy or hard digging.

Those days - gone like a wild goose in winter.

The "aiming" issue can be simply resolved by having the menfolk sit to p**. This is not hard to do. My sons all sit, even the grown ones who don't when they are in their own world do sit when they come back home. I also knew a man who said that at other people's homes he would sit, especially if they had carpeting in their bathroom.

Yup. Know what you mean Ed. Memories are made of this.

Today there are more disappointments then years ago. If it didn't work out we could hit the road with a Cloverleaf Salve display, Christmas/Greeting Cards for sale or Seeds for the garden.

Sometimes I wonder what makes some people "Tick"

The state provides a program that allows women who don't want new babies to leave them at a "safe haven" with no criminal charges but still they do something like this.
