Visit German Iowa exhibit
Now, through April 3, residents are invited to the Ames Public Library to see “German Iowa and the Global Midwest,” a traveling exhibit from the University of Iowa. The group that has put the exhibit together is researching to add more panels that help tell the local story about German ancestors. If you have German ancestors who immigrated to Story County, and if you are willing to share your family’s story, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org. The Ames Library and the Ames Historical Society have partnered with the Iowa State University History Department to host several events in conjunction with the exhibit, so keep an eye out for that information.
